Trail Bench building session Nov 2018

  • 11/03/2018
  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • 24 Bertha Ct, Mahtomedi, MN 55115

The Gateway Brown's Creek Trail Association is looking for volunteers to assist in a bench building project for the DNR. Several of the benches along the Gateway Trail are in poor shape and many are not ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant (they lack armrests).

GBCTA is planning occasional (every 3 months or so) sessions for groups of 2 – 8 volunteers to assemble benches from DNR supplied materials. There is a standard ADA design which involves cutting lengths of 2 x 4's and 2 x 6's and then fastening them together .

The 1st session is planned for Saturday November 3rd 2018 9 am – 12 noon at Ian Harding's house at 24 Bertha Ct, Mahtomedi, MN . Coffee /juice and donuts will be on hand. If you have a cordless screwdriver, a measuring tape and /or a circular saw please bring them for your own use at the event.

If you are interested and able to assist on Saturday November 3rd please send an email to gbcta.org@gmail.com with your details name, contact info and what tools you have available.

All participants should be over 18 years of age and have some basic carpentry skills.

Thanks

Ian Harding
